You should have no problems with you mast height from Knoxville all the way to Mobile, across the FL Panhandle and around the FL coast.
You can probably pick up chart books at marinas on the TN river.
Be sure and stop by Blue Springs Marina on Watts Bar Lake and say hello to all my friends there. They normally have the books for the Tennessee River and both books for the Tenn/Tom.

Thanks, we r trying 2 do this in next few wks. I found a site to download the tn. r. charts, but still haven't been able 2 get a bridge table 4 overhead clearences. I have a call in 2 corps, waiting 4 reply. Do u know m.m. 4 blue springs marina?

Danko, With your mast heigth and depth, you should have no problems from Knoxville to the Tenn/Tom. We have done the trip several times with our 50' mast and 4'6" draft.

You won't have any draft problems if you stay in the channel--maintained depth is 9'. As far as bridges, all fixed bridges provided a minimum of 52' at ordinary high water. There are a few railroad bridges to open, should monitor 13. There are 22 highway bridges between the Tennessee River and Demopolis, all fixed. There are 9 bridges from Demopolis to Mobile, 6 fixed and 3 to open. The lowest aerial crossing on the Tombigbee north of Demopolis is at mile 330.6, 71' vertical clearance and south of Demopolis is at mile 114.9, a telephone cable with 53' clearance. The locks all appear to be open and running with no scheduled maintenance time. You can call the Army Corp of Engineers for specific info on the Tombigbee locks at 662-327-2142.
