suggested itinerary nassau- exumas-nassau 6 nights

I would like suggestions for cruising stops & how many nights at each stop. We have 6 nights. We're picking up guests in Nassau & returning them to Nassau. Our vessel is a power boat with 20 kt cruising speed so we can get places fast. We would like combination of marina & mooring/anchor destinations.

With your speed, I'd make my most southerly destination Wardrick Wells. You'll want to call into the Park, VHF, to reserve a mooring in the North field the day before you plan on arriving. Great spot. Other spots north of there are Normans, Highbourne Cay (marina), Allens Cay. I'd spend 2 days in the Park around Wardrick Wells and the rest a day piece, weather dependent.

It really depends on what you want to do. If you want to fish I would suggest a couple of days at Chub Cay. If you want to relax and sightsee then I would head to the Exumas.

We are not going to be fishing just want to see the best areas of the Exumas. However on our way from Florida to Nassau do you suggest stopping in Chub or the northern end of the Berry's?

Its a beautiful marina (all floating docks) and nice restaurant although its not cheap. I believe approx. $4.50ft. + water & electric. It is a nice stop off point for a night or two.

Skip Nassau. Can you clear in at Chub? Staniel Cay should be on the list. It's really a great spot with lots of activities.

I don't believe you can clear in Chub. Yes, Staniel Cay is a great place to visit although be careful should a west wind come in as there is no protection. We were at the docks a couple of years ago and a strong west wind (50knts) came in during middle of night and damaged our boat and several others. Several thousands of dollars.

Nassau to Allen's or Highborne is an easy jog. Allens has big iguanas that come out on the beach to get handouts from tourists. The marina at Highborn has a fish cleaning station on the end of the dock that attracts all manner of sharks.

If you like snorkeling, the plane wreck area at Normans is ok, nice beach there too. Shroud is nice if you dinghy the interior. Staniel offers Thunderball Grotto, lots of small fish. Also at Big Majors the pigs come down to the beach for handouts. Hawksbill has beaches, Warderick Wells has the main park offices and cute little birds that will eat from your hand.

Kind of hard to skip Nassau when they're picking up guests there.
