St. Thomas to Jacksonville, Fl end of April

We will be sailing our Lagoon 450 at the end of the month from St. Thomas to Jacksonville. Looking for general information for this trip. Anchorages, places to avoid, place to stop/see, local info ect. We plan to island hop the trip and NOT do a straight shot. Thanks in-advance.

Re: St. Thomas to Jacksonville, Fl end of April

I sailed my boat a couple years ago from the BVIs to Cape Canaveral, most of it solo. My entire trip was day sailing with the exception of one over night sail from PR to DR.

Stopped Sun Bay, SVI,
Isle Mortes, PR
Boqueron PR
Pureto Real, PR

Checked in Samana DR.
Cleared out DR at Boqueron.

Cleared in and out of T&C Sapodilla Bay.

Cleared into Bahamas at Mayaguana and then up the Bahama chain. I really liked Atwood Harbour on Acklins and Little Harbour on Long.

Lots of placers to stop in the Exumas and Abacos. I ended up spending a lot of time in the Abacos as a Hurricane was forecast which got downgraded fortunately.

If your Lagoon is coming out of charter, one of the biggest suggestions I can make is to make sure the fuel has been well polished. I ran across a number of just out of charter boats that were having fuel problems, myself included. Related, have plenty of filters. They can be a PITA to get your hands on downwind.
