i went to st thomas to cruise with someone i met on a forum---we went to st thomas and hung out in th eanchorage at water island while awaiting his daughter and daughters boyfriend---i was spozed to be on board for entire month--was let out the boat in st thomas yacht club. in ordewr to get somewhere from where i could get home, as i could find no cruisers in th ecaribhean who could use a crew member, i had to go to st john, cruse bay, and ferry back to redhook to fly home on the contributions of members of another forum.....it did work out and i did get home---even tho i had been promised 4 weeks of cruising caribean without need of my own money, the reality was i DID need my own money----i stocked the larder and paid mooring fees , so when i needed to use my money for me, there was none left..i spoke with rubikoop while i was in christmas cove, but i didnt get to meet him, as was the plan---the boat wenjt to st john before i could ....i fewrried back to redhook and took a safari to the airport to san juan--i was lucky to get home within 4 days....new years in phx airport instead of foxys as was promised---i was safe, tho..ida rather had another boat to sail on.......

From rubikoop
"Glad to hear that you had a great adventure and things worked out for you. It doesn't sound like you got to do much exploring on St Thomas. Water Island would be a good place to get used to "the life"."

No, I didn't see much of St. Thomas, but that was ok. I think I saw as much of it as I wanted. Experiencing "the life" was definitly why I was there.

From BadFish
"Goin back any time soon?"

Definetly going back, but don't know how soon. Hopefully the next time will be on my own boat.

It was a week I will always remenber.
