Re: St Lucia entry requirements?

I've sailed in to St Lucia many times, and they always wanted the outbound clearance papers from my previous port. If you're planning to claim that the UK doesn't issue such papers to it's citizens, you might get away with it, but who knows. If you can have one issued, that's one less thing to worry about.

EDIT: I just saw your other thread about exit requirements from the UK. You will without question be required to produce outbound clearance papers in St Lucia.

Re: St Lucia entry requirements?

There is a way around this..... The French islands don't require a clearance from the last port. Why not stop in Martinique, clear in (easy), reprovision there, Le Marin has a supermarket with dinghy dock!

Then head over to St Lucia, with a clearance from Martinique.

But: if for any reason landfall is in another island, they want to see your outbound clearance from the last port. Better get one.

LeaseOnLife: sounds good but my wife is Philippine citizenship and would have to apply for a visa before going there.

Looks like I will try to get something from here in the UK the customs officer didnt seem to know anything about it or even know how to do it. Ill try again though.

Re: St Lucia entry requirements?

the port captain in plymouth should be able to issue you a clearance certificate,if you explain why you need it,generally very helpful.

See other thread... keep your marina bill and present with your ships papers when your enter Spain/Portugal... they accept that as proof of clearance if dates look okay... (4month gap they get suspicious). Then when you clear out you'll get something more suitable... UK is so laid back its untrue...lol

UK sounds like the US.

Coming in they give you a fine toothed comb, going out they don't want to be bothered.

I am not quite clear about how the discussion here goes. Correct me if I bubble nonsense.

If you are departing UK now (April?) and goint to St Lucia (when?). By boat? Not stopping along the way? Not waiting for the hurricanes to blow over?

Big boat then?

1. do not ask harbour masters, it is not their job, zarpe is issued by Customs (9/10),

2. unless you sail directly, you need zarpe from LAST port of call, not from the home port,

The French may accept you without zarpe but only if you are sailing a EU registered vessel. Your wife's passport does not matter - this is the immigration part, it is not directly related to the boat and the zarpe.

Apologies if I messed clear waters. It might be only I am puzzled by some answers. All know-how is dictated by experiences and mine is limited too.

Cheers,
b.
