spence rock channel abacos

Hello , i would like to know if any one have made this passage after Dorian ? I have 5.6 ft draft and i would try it at high tide ( from navionics data the high tide should be 2-4 hours after Nassau but i look at memory rock tide and its almost the same as Nassau).

Any tips ? I didnt find lots of info and maybe will turn back to berrys before attempting this

Thank you

I would risk it. I did Indian rock channel last week and it was a little deeper than pre Dorian, I was at Cave cay, just north of Spence rock, 5 days ago, noticed no differences in depths from last March. It is rather quiet around here though!,

Re: spence rock channel abacos

Anyone else have recent experience running Spence Rock Channel in the Abacos?

Any suggestions for good overnight anchorages in the Bight of Abaco with a south east wind?

Did it just a few months before dorian with 4 foot draft. I seem to remember not much under the keel and some pretty rocky looking ledges not good for running aground. anchored off cave key and went into foxtown a few days later. We came up from the berries

Re: spence rock channel abacos

Lars thanks for the reply.

We too used the Spence Rock channel to slip into the Abacos from the Berry Islands. At mid tide we found one brief spot at 5.1 feet, but we were not on the "line" at that moment. Everywhere else was 5.5 or more.
