Southpointe Anchorage Stuart, FL

Just wanted to give you guys some info on the anchorage. It was bought by huizinga from the city of Stuart and half of the mooring field is going to be replaced with 173 permanent slips and 25 transient slips.

We were informed that March 1st the entire facility will be closed and we'll have to park our boats elsewhere. This isn't exactly official as we've seen nothing in writing, but we were told this by the harbor master who is also leaving (he lives onsite).

Kind of unfortunate, but hell that's why we got a boat, so we could get a change of scenery

We got the official date today, April 15. i would expect it to be closed for a year and the prices will probably be significantly higher then before.

They are talking about opening a new mooring field in Jensen Beach, we shall see. We had our last bbq Saturday and I am going to miss seeing our friends everyday, but such is life. We're moving Feb 2nd, it will be the first time we've been on a dock since we moved aboard........ so it should be interesting.
