Southeast (SC) to Northeast (RI), in need of advice/suggestions!

Hello folks, I've got a bit of a situation and am looking for advice.

I'm soon to be (in a boatless state) in my place of origin Charleston, SC. I need to get from there back to Providence, RI. I may also explain that I am newer than not to the ways of sailing the east coast. Is my time well spent in looking for a vessel headed towards New England from the south at this time? I am looking to depart the end of the first week in August.

If you have any advice as to where to look, someone to speak to, or alternate suggestions for reaching New England, they would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you!

Chip

thats going the wrong way. Migratory birds are flying south in the fall so it will be hard to find a boat heading north. You might get lucky finding a boat heading to UK with a stopover in Newport.

On the other hand, Southwest flies cheap to Providence.
