South River, Annapolis during 4th of July

We're looking for a trip in the area and know we want to avoid Annapolis proper during 4th of July due to crowds and boats, but I was wondering if anyone knows what South River would be like during this time. If we head into Selby Bay or up Harness Creek, should we expect to see the same crowds or are they all just in the Severn near downtown?

Harness Creek is crowded every weekend. You are smart to avoid Annapolis! You might want to look at the Rhodes River.

I was in the Anchorage Marina in Baltimore paying my bill today and I overheard a call where they said they still had upto 45ft slips available for July 4th weekend. There are also anchorages either side and a city dinghy dock available. The fireworks are amazing if you are up for the trip.

The tree line in Harness Creek pretty much blocks view of the Annapolis show. You might be able to see something from Selby Bay, but probably only some of the high stuff... and only if you're anchored further out toward the middle of Selby.
