South Florida Boat Yard

I own a Chris White 48' Atlantic series cat that is now in Hope Town that I'm planning to move to Ft. Lauderdale for the summer. My plan is to either dock her far up the New River or put her on the hard until November. Does anyone have any suggestions/recommendations for a south Florida yard that could haul and store her for a reasonable price? It would be nice to be able to work on her myself while she is out of the water. Thank you

I would recommend Cracker Boy Boats works in West Palm Beach, Florida. They are very reasonably priced and do this kind of storage all the time. There is also 24 hour security there, and a city marina right next door to the boat yard.

If you want to be up the new River as mentioned try "Marina Mile Yachting Center" or look up www.mmyachtcenter.com I'm not sure about work onit your self but they are pretty flexible.

I live up the New River so let me know if I can help you. There is always dock space available. If you are looking to keep it on the hard, I agree with the Cracker Boy recommendation.

You will be in Ft. Lauderdale during hurricane season and you would have much better protection up the New River than you would at Cracker Boy which is much closer to the Atlantic and therefore more exposed. In addition, you'd be better off in the water than on the hard if a hurricane comes through (I know this from an experience with Hurricane Wilma). If it were my boat, it would be up the New River.
