I am deciding the name of my B343, can you give me your opinion of this name:

I suppose it has more to do with what it means to you than any one else. About the only rules I like:

1. It has to pass the VHF test. Can you say it three times over the radio without gettin embarassed and can it be understood.

2. Coming into the marina is it easy to spell?

3. Does the name fit on the transom?

4. Any name that is too cute won't be in 5 years years.

So basically it seems like a 4 for 4. Order the new lettering and hire the virgin for the re naming ceremony! FWIW, "Bob" would be cheaper.

We met a singlehander who had a dog named Steve. I can't remember the name of his boat, but he claimed to have seriously considered calling her Steve. I think Soft Air is good - much better than Hard Air - maybe not as good as Nothing But Air.

Thanks slomotion, the name come from my Software Development Sowftare company, no longer in business but I still have the site up ++Welcome++ - Soft Air Ltd. we named it Soft Air at that time as an abreviation of aviation software, soft = software air = as a meaning of aviation and the named worked just fine, I then decide to retire and get this boat and I noticed that the name could also fit there Soft Air so as I am completely new to sailing I am making sure it does not look funny or too earcatching I could also consider Air...

The only name that would obercome this is my mother´s name Edith
