Slip Fees Along NW FL Coast

Hi--does anyone know where I can get a slip cheaper than 8-10 per foot that seems to be going rate along NW panhandle of FL? I am interested in being closer to Carrabelle than Pensacola.

I don't know of any place specific, but here in the Tampa Bay area there are often slips advertised on craigslist. Usually people with waterfront homes, with a dock, who don't own their own boat. These typically go for somewhere between 1/4th and 1/2 what the marinas charge. Don't usually allow liveaboards, though.

Good luck finding something, but remember that you very often get what you pay for.

Try using Active Captain www.activecaptain.com as many marinas are listed with slip fees. Near Destin there are several marinas in your price range. PM me for specifics, although Destin is a two day intercoastal trip to Carrabelle (subject to your mast height).

If you can go a little farther to the west, I have seen some pretty good slip rates in Pensacola and Orange Beach (AL). If cost is really important, go to Pass Christian, MS. Their city harbor rates are unbelievable, and they are adding slips. A 42 foot boat is $140/month, with electricity, right now.
