Going from the bay side to the Atlantic side via the creek on Shroud Cay, here are my questions: where is best to anchor, how long is the trip from one side to the other, can it be reasonably done (by the younger ones, of course) on a SUP, best time of day? Thx!

Re: Shroud Cay, Exumas, creek crossing
Anchor off the south west side of Shroud down towards Little Pigeon Cay. We have done the south creek in a kayak. Sure a paddle board no problem. The south creek dead ends at a narrow sandy area that is the Atlantic Beach. Amazing place. Enjoy!

We took a 8' RIB near high tide, mostly rowed with the motor up, but didn't stay long. It was secluded and beautiful but very little depth once the tide goes down. I don't know if it dries out but probably much of it does so watch your timing.
Rowed and it was high tide?! We will definitely time the traverse to the tide table. And then if we had to walk / row back how far or how long is that trip??
I don't remember exactly; it has been a couple of years. I think we walked, pulling our RIB a hundred to two hundred yards to deep water. It was mucky but not too bad. The photo doesn't show a lot but its the only one I could find.
If you want to go all the way to ocean through a cut where creek flows to ocean (quite breathtaking) , on a dinghy/Kayak/SUP closest place to anchor is Sanctuary creek or bit further south (there are two creek entrances) It is helpful to get the tidal flow right that will assist you paddling. The creeks have probably .5 -1kn flow in them in places. Anchor on the north side of the western point for SE winds and south side in N winds. See chart depths in meters. The northern creek is about 1.3 miles to the ocean, it is a fabulous trip at mid to high tide it is possible to motordinghy all the way on shallow setting. Unfortunately every now and then large motor yachts disgorge jet skis who ignore the no wash speed limit and belt through as total morons.
