And as long as they keep those damn tables like ice they will never catch me with my dangerous weapon. The second it sees that table, it disguises itself as a button.

Oh you men are all the same! "The water's so COLD!" "The table's so COLD!" "It's so COLD in Florida in July!"

Got me, but most men are real good at knowing how to tell time, most especially when foods involved. Unlike the fairer sex who waits until 6:30 to start getting ready for a 6:30 dinner date, the guy will be waiting to go at 6:15. The wiser of us have learned to have a few snacks stashed about us for that minimum ONE hour wait,,,on guard, touche, and why's that dog growling at me...;>))

To be honest 1/2" lexan or similar with spaced air vent holes would suvive a good kicking for long enough for you to get dressed, assemble your Mossberg and brew a coffee before having to take action...
However if the 'Invader' has a crowbar.. or even just a long heavy duty screwdriver that wood slide is gonna last less than a minute...
Its like the average house door that can be opened with one well placed kick if the frames set for it to open inwards.. and most are..

NOTHING will keep everyone out, but good strategies can give you time for the cup of coffee and any other actions you want to take along with it.

No, you keep the key right inside by the companionway. That way you can lock safely from the inside but not be trapped inside.

The grated window we had was in 1979 - 1984, and I really don't remember what the setup was to make sure we could use the window as an escape path, but you need that.

What makes us "civilised" is not that we don't have the same corruption as the 3rd World, it's the fact that ours is legal.........whereas with the uncivilised the corruption is merely transparent.

Pah!

I actually do have a letter of release from a secure psychiatric hospital Business dispute , but could have been worse - touch and go for a while whether I got that far (to know DOJ is not always to love him ). The funny thing was that met a couple of folks inside I had not seen for a while. . Thailand; latin for "you really can't make this sh#t up" .

The "Civilized" countries have figured out how to dress it up to make it easier for the citizens to swallow. A pig in a dress is still a pig.

Similarly, nothing will keep everyone out of a bank vault. But I wonder what the point is in saying this. As if anything were 100%
