You do use the term "recovering" very loosely don't you Boatman ?
Not sure the connection to my original post though.

I think anything can be kicked in or broken apart with a crowbar. The thing is that long before they manage that, they hear Mr Mossberg ram a shell into the chamber and thus know what comes next. They sense danger and when you have a (any) violent plan ready for when they start kicking in the entrance, they will probably adjust their attitude and go away. Just make sure your plan is effective in case they come anyway.

You may want to research sheepdogs a bit more, I don't think sheep herds are typical of Minnesota. Dog eats from bowl? Surely you are thinking of pet dogs on your lap.
Here you see a sheepdog in action vs a wolf on video:

Re: Security
I have been following this thread for a while now and I would like to go ahead and offer our service for boat security. We can provide wireless motion detection for intrusion through satellite. Not only can we send intrusion notifications to the web and your cellular phone, but we also offer a panel that indicates where the intrusion occurs on your boat within seconds. Intrusion notifications provide last lat, long and also can sent to your Facebook or Twitter account as well. Also, our key fob has an emergency button that directs an SOS message to anyone of your choosing. If anyone would like some more information please PM me. We also are offering special promotional pricing. Visit webboatwatch.com.
Thank you!

Close, mate, but not quite!
Many Yanks think we are Texans but the flag is from much further south.

I don't need guns aboard because outwitting opponents (like in these threads) is too easy....
PS....I have an extra 25mm flare gun for sale....

Not targeting anyone in particular. The thread stared out with an inquiry to a few places that were thought to be a potential problem. The first suggestion were security screens, then that moved to pepper spray, a few posts later to a shell in a Mossberg and next thing you know we get political (not you of course ).
I think if a place is a problem, just avoid it. 3/5 of the world is covered with water. It's a big ocean out there. Lots of off the beaten path places to go to.
