Sailing to Morocco

Greetings to all,

I am planning a sail-trip to Morocco - Tangier and Rabat and any advice will be welcome in respect of administrative regulations for the boat to enter the country and leave in 10 days

I hope to experience and will advise back with news upon return.

Best regards to all
Todor

Re: Sailing to Morocco

Hi Todor,
Rabat has by far the best marina in Morocco. Very safe and well protected. Lots of guards as the kings fleet is moored there.
No problems with any regulations, but everything takes time. Drones have to be reported and will be stored at the customs house during your stay in Morocco. Ne pepper spray or weapons are allowed.

I have been five times to Rabat by boat and never have experianced any problems. You also can leave your boat there and leave the country.

Re: Sailing to Morocco

I cannot speak to Rabat since I have not been there. I do know that under certain weather conditions it can be tricky entering over the bar, and that the marina will send a boat out to guide you in. Do some research and see what others who have been there say.

I HAVE been to Tangiers earlier this year. I posted something on this a few months back. Search on my user name or go to NoForeignLand. I found Tangiers an excellent place to visit and the staff could not have been better. I mean that sincerely, they were over and above any request or expectation that you can have. Excellent English is spoken everywhere in the marina. They walk you through the formalities, which will take an hour or so. Not sure of your situation, but we are a US-flagged vessel who were arriving from Spain. Straightforward in our case.

Best of luck wherever you decide and enjoy Morocco!

Steve
