Sailing from San Blas, Panama to Cartagena, Colombia

Hello

Looking for some tips on this route. I am a travel writer and want to mention it in an article I am writing. Any tips on the best time of year? Or preparations? Or things to look for when choosing a boat to join? I imagine most readers will be looking to join a trip, rather than having their own vessel. Of course, if anyone knows anyone who works this route that'd be great.

I express my own ignorance and am looking for some expertise. I hope someone can help.

Many thanks

It's dead to windward, so not a good idea at any time, really. Very uncomfortable, lots of pitching and thumping, no sailing, and all motoring.

Sailing betwen Panama and Colombia across San Blas

Hello
I am Javier Martin, Captain of the sailboat Twyla.
We are browsing through the Caribbean 3 years and the last 2 years we have been sailing between Panama and Colombia, often with passengers.
Initially between Cartagena and Portobelo, now Sapzurro / Capurgana and Miramar Panama.

We will be around another year on this route, then we have plans to make the route between Mexico and Cuba.

Actually we are the ones that we are opening this route. Because until now very little was known of Capurgana and Sapzurro.
Our guests, through distributing information and recommendations have contributed greatly to our best ever go this route.
