Routes to the St. Johns from South Florida

Hey all.. Currently have The DitchRider docked in the Palm Beaches and we are thinking of relocating her for a summer to the St. Johns.

Is the only way to run up the intracoastal to Jacksonville and back down or is there some alternate?

Go through the Lake Worth entrance, out into the Atlantic and then up to the St. Johns River entrance and up the river.

Vasco.. thanks but this is a Gibson Houseboat.. Off shore is not an option for obvious reasons.

I was hoping that we would not need to go all the way to JAX.

No canals or shortcuts from up the river. Unless you have the boat trucked overland the only option is north to Jax and then up stream on the St Johns.

Take my ski boat over all the time. Some very lovely scenery.
