Rio Dulce to San Pedro Sula van/bus/options

I seem to recall there was someone running a Rio Dulce to San Pedro Sula transfer for the airport. Anyone has that info handy? What would be the options to go from Rio to SAP?

Thanks!

You can also do it just by hoping various modes of public transport, but given the security problems in Honduras these days its probably best to stick with a single known operator.

I found Honduran border crossings a bit chaotic. The private van driver will lead you through with no problem. When you get to the Rio, there will be several choices. Backpackers take public buses but we have had our backpack stolen on a chicken bus too.

Yes, it is a bit chaotic...as can be the whole journey using public options.

I was thinking the private route really. I have too many complications so I prefer simplicity through an operator. I will research further the options in that department.

Thanks

We used Otto Archila's car service to go from Rio Dulce to San Pedro Sula this past May and had a very good experience. We'll use his service to return to the Rio in a few months from SAP. You may want to check out his rates. He can be contacted by e mail at otitours@hotmail.com or otitoursplus@gmail.com. He can also be reached by phone at 5719-5861 or 4541-0873. There are other car services there as well that we heard good things about.

It's cheaper to fly from there and the trip is several hrs shorter than going to GUA. You also travel by private van instead of a big bus. If you trust your driver and are not all paranoid about short brown skin people, you will be fine.

There are also a few flights out of Flores, which is much closer than Guate City too.

Be careful with Roneey/ Tournabe tours,, they left me waiting for pick up almost 3 hours late with poor communication. if you check their reviews they are terrible! I've found flights to many places much cheaper thru Guatemala city, via spirit, then$12. Letigua bus is very comfy, and air conditioned.

That's the guy! His father took us to Copan once. He didn't even drive like a madman.
