Restaurant Menus
I have looked all over this forum and internet for copy of a restaurant menu.
My questions are like this... we are trying to budget for our trip in the BVI and have no idea how much a cheeseburger costs...
Can anyone give information as far as how much a meal costs in the BVI. We are not taking about lobster meals, but how bout a burger meal? How bout a chicken meal?
We are looking at several provisioning options. WOW!! 16 bucks for a gallon of milk!
So if you can help I would greatly appreciate it!!
Louie

Re: restaurant menus
Welcome aboard and enjoy CF.
I'm sure someone will have some newer prices than I have.

Re: Restaurant Menus
I'm not so sure.
My kitchen has a glorious view of some garbage bins, a brick wall with a few weeds and the burgers don't taste so good. Think how much better a cheeseburger would taste with the addition of a little sand, some coconut palms swaying in the warm breeze and maybe a cute waitress in a bikini.

Re: Restaurant Menus
Greetings and welcome aboard the CF, Louie.
Great question! Exactly what is the current cost of a “Cheeseburger in Paradise”?

Re: Restaurant Menus
Hi, Louie.
Restaurants tend to be a bit more expensive than comparable places in the States, in my experience, but not excessively so. Of course that depends on what you're used to, e.g., a cheeseburger in San Francisco is probably going to be more expensive than Jackson, Mississippi.
De Loose Mongoose in Trellis Bay on Tortola is probably a good example of what you may be looking for. It's a very informal beach bar/restaurant, and the prices are pretty reasonable for the BVI...
Beef Island Guest House and De Loose Mangoose Bar & Restaurant
Another example: the Cooper Island Beach Club is a definite step up from the "beach bar" genre...

For provisioning your boat, lots of folks use these sources...
www.AmpleHamper.com
Bobby's Market Place, British Virgin Islands - Supermarket, Villa and Yacht Provisioning Specialists
Bucks Food Market
Hopefully, CF member Zanshin will weigh in. He's a great current source of info on the area. Here's a link to a really informative page on his website...
Restaurants and Bars Links Page
Hope you enjoy your trip!

Re: Restaurant Menus
Not in BVI, but was in the Bahamas last month and a cheesburger in a reatuarnt varied between $7-9, extras added up fast.
