I need to exchange crew next week in or near Portland Maine. Any suggestions for a good place to get a mooring, anchor or even a slip at a reasonable price. Crew is driving up so access to train/airport not important. Thanks- Tim

We spent a couple of nights on a mooring at the Centerboard Yacht Club in South Portland a couple of years ago to wait out bad weather. Easy access for people driving in. Not a lot of services, but reasonably priced and friendly.

I stayed at Portland Yacht Services on a mooring last year. Pretty rolly in the morning from the ferries but they have slips also. Around 3/4 mile walk onto town, but not much around the marina

+1 for Portland Yacht Services. Slips or moorings. Lots of folks use them for crew changes and resupply stops. Reasonable rates and they'll work with you on whatever you need. One caveat: it can get quite rolly during the day at the docks. I understand there's an anchorage not far away too, but I haven't tried it.
