Pictures from the 2023 Heineken Regatta in St. Martin

I was a volunteer on committee boat "A" again this year so managed to get some good pictures during the 4 days of racing. I've just finished culling the collection and editing them.

Being on the Start (and finish) boat put me in a perfect position to get some nice shots of the racers.

Very nice! X442 in the mix too! But they sure know how to incorporate Ugly into those super yachts...

Those Volvos are not pretty - until they zip by at 15 knots and you realize that they are optimized for speed, not looks. At least most of them have interesting paint jobs.

Just to clarify, I was referring to that 3 masted monstrosity in the distance. Everything else on the water is designed according to some goal: fast, comfy, pretty, whatever, and on the whole, succeeds. That super yacht is supposed to be striking/awesome/etc, and completely fails in that quest.

@HeinSdL - that 3-master is the https://www.oceancoyacht.com/fleet/black-pearl/ and it was designed as an "eco"yacht and I suppose it fulfils that design goal. And she looks impressive under sail. And when it comes to ugly megayachts, the megayacht "A" takes the cake.

I know I saw them - but somehow they must have dodged my camera's lens! They certainly were on our committee boat's classes.
