Yeah much better time motoring, but sailing shorthanded its nice to be able to gunkhole and break the trip up into legs. Also I've had a few occurences where there was almost no winds and seas that approached 4ft. Either slow you way down or roll uncomfortably without the sails to stabilize. If you put the sails up you get that popping that would seem to put unnecessary wear on sails and rigging.
