The
Exumas are all about going slowly and leisurely. There are so many cool places that you are bound to quickly find one or more where you want to stay for awhile. Do it. In the end you get as far as you get and it’s all good. As Scott730 said, the
kids will have a blast: giant iguanas - eeewwww, swimming pigs looking for handouts, etc. Be sure to leave a sign or other token of your
passage on Boo Boo Hill in Warderick Wells. I don’t know whether they still have the weed wacker powered blender in the bar at Norman’s Cay, but they used to make very good (and very loud) frozen daiquiris.
There was a first time for everyone who cruises the
Exumas. The
anchorages are mostly sand with good holding; and the
water is so clear that
coral heads are easy to spot and avoid - in many
anchorages you want someone at the bow giving hand signals to the helmsman. Just go slow and you'll be fine. I never met anyone who didn’t want to go back again and again.
