New Tenn-Tom Cruising Guide
Hi everyone new to the forums here . Ive been looking around on guides to cruising the tt but from what I have seen alot of info is out dated, so Im thinking of setting out and writing a new guide but I need some info. What info would you want the be included in such a guide? Boaters at my home port have mentioned of course rates and moorings but there has also been mentioned the distance from said marina to hardware store, local bars, and such. I need more opinions here. I dont want it to be like a generic hotel guide lol.

Re: New ten-tom cruising guide
Hurry up and get it done by January, thats when i will be doing this trip. haha. Just kidding. The Rumsey guide is good. So far i've read half the book because im nervous as all heck, so it would be nice with an updated one. Thing i can think of are Anchorages between Marinas would be nice. Distances between gas stops. Lock procedures? Currents, and shallow spots? Just a few off the top of my head.

Re: New Tenn-Tom Cruising Guide
Hello everyone and thanks so much for the numerous responses. Still have tons of research to do before actually heading out. Also getting my boat ready for such a trip in winter and to top it off the darn dink is still leaking lol. Please keep the ideas coming.

Re: New Tenn-Tom Cruising Guide
Just read your first post! Sorry that trip wasn't more fun. I'm from Huntsville, and used to spend my summers in Scottsboro. Been thinking about movng back home and putting a boat at the marina in Guntersville. Look forward to following your travels! I plan on subscribing once I get to my own computer later.

Re: New Tenn-Tom Cruising Guide
Ah yes, boy scout road. That's where I spent my summers, Camp Jackson! I will always have a love for that place. I drove by there this past summer, and sadly the string of tornadoes that hit last spring made a disaster of the place. What used to be a beautiful wooded camp now looks like a lumberyard with all the trees down, and all teh buildings are gone.
