Re: More Bad News for Caribbean Coral Reefs
Once upon a time it was just a hole in the ozone layer, life was simple just change our refrigeration gas over to the newly patented version, so simple but same crock-of-crap.
'tis dollars just dollars.

So in the end that poop floats and settles in the Northeast!
And while we are at it: whose responsibility was it it have killed the butterfly last year? Since you didn't it kept flapping its' wings and there is a big snow storm here today!

Gee... all this time I thought the poop that ended up in the Northeast was elected. I must change my reading habits! Phil

Climatologists know this.
The problem is that we have messed up the natural cycles by dumping stored CO2 into the atmosphere while we compromise the carbon sinks; the oceans and the forests. AGW is a new phenomenon that can be traced to the use of fossil fuels during the industrial revolution. Prior that other source of energy were used by humans; animal power, wind power, water power. The natural carbon cycle has been seriously messed up.

Because of you and your ilk. Your carbon footprint is unjustifiable, as is your standard of living. The only way to reduce the current precipitous rise in temperature, your co2 emissions and contribution to the depletion of the ozone above your head is to come to grips with what you consider your basic needs. It is beyond the resources of this planet to sustain your lifestyle and those with whom you associate. I'll leave it to others here to help you in your transition to a more meaningful and sustainable way of life. They will set the rules by which you must abide lest you face ostracism and further humiliation.

The Global warming religion does not understand humor, comedy, kidding and satire. Wake up Don... The Polar bears are drowning!!! And you dare to joke about the serious crisis the world's climate is in.
Meanwhile, I'm looking forward to seeing dinosaurs in my lifetime.

Short version: It's Conachair's fault, and the seahorse he rode in on.

Re: More Bad News for Caribbean Coral Reefs
Mr. B, the problem with Gasland is that it fails to prove objectivity. Yes, one would think that methane coming out of the kitchen tap is not a good thing. But they fail to show any proof that the kitchen tap was good clean water BEFORE the fracking. One would think it was--but that's not objective, not proof. A court would have to dismiss the claim since there is no evidence.
Personally, fracking scares the hell out of me. A "classified" proprietary mix of toxins being injected where it might just contaminate the groundwater supply for ten thousand years? Nuh-uh, not on my watch, first you publish everything you're injecting, then you PROVE it won't taint the water. If the fracking companies could prove their materials were safe--they would, and they'd end the argument. But in this case, we will have large areas where "municipal" or treated water supplies will be needed, at great cost, as the groundwater is poisoned.
Maybe you heard the old fable "sausage nose" ? One of the many be careful what you wish for tales. These folks who sold fracking leases just prove Esau is still alive and well.
Blue Crab, you stalk about sustainable? That's unnatural. What is natural is boom and bust, the law of club and fang, feast and famine. A sustainable lifestyle is UNNATURAL so until the enlightenment comes...fuggedaboudit. And buy stock in the new water purification and distribution companies.
