Miami-Bermuda-Halifax ?

We are going to sail from miami to Bermuda and then from bermuda to Halifax. We will be doing this after we finish cruising the caribbean. We are thinking of leaving around the end of april. Wondering what the sail is like, and if the end of April is do-able, not for comfort but safety.
We will be doing this in a 30' catalina.

Thanks!

Satyspringer and wildshore,

Born Bermudian, and lived here most of my 65 years.
While I have not done either of these runs personally, I do know how the traffic seems to be at that time of year.

Salty, end of April we usually have 100-150 boats coming up from the islands. Large group of similar nationality travel together, and then jump off for Europe or the NE.

Wild, in the past, a number of rallies do your route, West Marine for one, and then melt off in different directions.

Weather??-- not so sure nowadays. We used to have a prevailing southwesterly that was dependable. That doesn't seem to exist any more, with a lot of southeasterly now that used to live 200 miles south of us on the ride from the Canaries to the Caribbean. The common opinion amongst us older Bermudian is that the wind patterns have definitely moved 200 miles north of where they used to be years ago.
Climate change? global warming?-- I don't know, but for example, for the last 6 weeks I dont think we have had a period of more than 24 hours where the wind has been less than 30 knots, and on a number of occasions, as high as 85 knots, out of the Northwest, 45-55 for days on end.
My own boat, broke a big chain mooring, and went up on the beach. Short story, not much damage, needs paint job.
Sorry to ramble, but trying to give you an idea of how things are changing around here. If you guys want to PM me, I will help you in any way I can. I am pretty well connected here.
