Is anyone in Venezuela or know someone/surveyor who is there?
I posted almost the same thread in another spot but I think it also fits here. Is anyone in Venezuela or know someone who is there who could take cursory look a boat on Isla Margarita? (I know VZ is not a popular place but cruisers are there!) I could supply a puddle jump flight from Caracus if that is where you are. I need a bonafide cruiser with a critical eye, not necessarily a surveyor. I just want to see if the vessel is worth a long, expensive flight.
If not I may employ a surveyor to fly there from Miami for a day or two to look it over, (3 hr nonstop plus a puddle jump).
I believe I can get someone to meet you at the Isla Margarita airport with a car, driver & accomodations.
Can any one recommend a cat surveyor who would do this.
Its a small but well regarded French production builder, 40'+ catamaran about 15 years old said to be in reasonable shape.
Boat is on the hard with bottom work being done and owner present.
Also any one have advice about purchasing, insuring and removing a boat from the country? I am a US citizen.
Thank you.
Eric
