Info for Cays south and East of Long Island, Bahamas

Hello sailors, I have sailed to most of the Bahamian Cays, I am looking for local knowledge about Cays such as, Cat Cay, San Salvador, Crooked and Acklins, Rum Cay and Maybe Great Inagua. I have a Endevour 40 sloop and she draws 5 feet. Looking for more fun places to sail to. If anyone has some info to share, I am willing to listen. Thanks All. Jim.

I've been to all the places you mentioned and I recommend purchasing Steve Pavilidis' (sp?) guides for the area. He knows more than I do.

Re: Info for Cays south and East of Long Island, Bahamas

Spent 9 weeks at Thompson Bay Long Island this year. Several weeks last twice last year. Got to sail on "Rough Justice" during regatta. Not many boats.

Two weeks at Conception Island last year and one week this year. This is a don't miss it place when going East.

One week at New Bight Cat Island last year. I believe this area is about as true Bahamian as you can get.

We draw 6-1/2 feet. Your draft is no problem at all.

Cool Re: Info for Cays south and East of Long Island, Bahamas

I just started this thread, with a link to a google map and some waypoints:

Go to Great Inagua on your way through the Windward Passage

We really enjoyed Great Inagua -
