I want to surf domin republic by puerto plata. Can a 30' class A boat handle the open ocean close to shore??

Close to shore, like where the rocks and surf are?

Lots of 30' boats out there going the distance. Staying close to shore can be a false sense of security that people who are not used to the water get sucked into.

Think buddy boating. Also a false sense of security, but not as close to the things that boats don't like.
