Re: In Prison in St Lucia
Of course you are right. Keep cool be non aggressive, even friendly and try to change the objective of the intruders. Nor everyone can master this when coming on deck freshly awake at night. It is wise advice I agree.
In some countries you can call the police, coast guard, guardia or other official help. In some countries you are alone and if something happens to your intruder on his way home... they lock you up and loose the key.
Maybe there should be a list of countries "not recommended for anchoring".

This poor guy (if really innocent) would have been way better off if he had just let the low life SOB steal whatever he was after.

Why, the altercation would have ended with the assailant stabbed to death instead of repeatedly bludgeoned and then thrown in the water to drown, or perhaps the assailant might have backed off without a fight on seeing a blade. The victim of the attack would have been quite clear on his need to either claim self defense in an attack on his life or flee. He certainly wouldnt have just brushed the matter off and sat back down for another cold one. This is why I said in another thread that a winch handle is worse than a good knife, it's just as lethal but has none of the intimidation factor.

Wow! If you can stay cool enough to do that after they kick you in the 'nads, my hat is off to you! Must be one tough character. I'd submit too, if you pulled that right after a solid kicking, on the grounds that this one ain't right!

Wait, wait, wait!
It had a purpose? What, exactly, was it?
I thought it was a thread on an internet board. By definition, there is no purpose.
