It's probably been five years since I've there myself. Last time I was there, there were several storm damaged and abandoned boats, a couple of boats on moorings (close to the old marina/boatyard). The old marina/boatyard was closed and also appeared abandoned.

Well, five years and '03 would have put you both there in the same year.

I was there in mid june 03' on my way back from the USVI's and it looked better than what I saw around Xmas 01' . I would like to return this spring ,it's a good spot if you surf , the breaks only a few miles away,I played there alot in the late 70's when I sailed from NJ.I'd like to surf it again before my old bones can't make it,I think i'll go back in may , anybody else been lately. Thanks Buzz

Hatchet Bay on Eleuthra? Is there another Hatchet Bay? I was there in 2007. A well protected harbor, but not good holding and the community is quite economically depressed & still not recovered from hurricane damage. There's zero surfing potential there so I suspect there is another Hatchet Bay. 'take care and joy, Aythya crew

I was there last March. There are a few Gov Moorings available (Free) A good grocrey in town and great internet cafe (Double D's) owned by Debbie who fits the name and does local internet installs. The Lutra Pure watercompany is accross from the dingy dock and has the best drinking water in the bahamas (IMO). Laundry etc. Nice place with great protection and Stone Crabs fresh on good fishing days. A bit rustic but a good stop if you are going to get some weather.
