Gib to the Azores

Hey brains trust and salty dogs - I need some advice -I am planning a passage - Gib to the Azores and then onto Ireland/Scotland - please can you guys give me some advice as to time of year to do this.. I have read I should wait till early summer once the Azores high is stable. any advice would be welcomed.

This is a good time, I usually go Gib, Madiera, Azores as the wind and currents once past Sao Vincent push you S and I prefer the beam to broad reaches to a beat.. and Madiera is a nice stop over.

June and July


Doable in August but do keep eye on any recurving tropical storm that might feel attracted towards the Azores and the seas above the Azores.



Sept is late for the upper leg, October can be is bad on both.
