Getting to the ABCs and Beyond

I am a relatively new member to this web site and must say that the amount of helpful information has been fantastic.
Although I have sailed for 40+ years to include multiple world and national championships in various one designs and have participated in numerous ocean races as well as living and cruising the Caribbean on many occasions I still feel a novice when I read the articles from some of your contributors.
Since I am relatively new to catamarans I have particularly enjoyed the debate on heavy weather tactics and handling for these vessels. I only wish I had discovered your web site years ago.
My life is still dictated by my work and home obligations here on the east coast so I am a part time cruiser and now keep my cat in St. Lucia. I sail 2 weeks out of every month (racking up the frequent flier miles) during the winter season and plan to spend some time in Grenada over the next few months and would like to know from any of your readers where if any are the best boat yards in the ABC's to have a boat hauled for hurricane season. My plans are to visit some of the Islands off Venezuela, Bonaire and continue on to Honduras next season then to the Caymans and eventually to Cuba. Unfortunately I sail only for two weeks at a time and keep the boat on the hard for the summer months. Embarrassing I know but that is my life for now so I accept my fate and dream of the day when I will not have to board an airplane when I am just starting to relax. Suggestions on facilities in the ABC's will be truly appreciated.

Re: Getting to the ABCs and Beyond

Caradow, so sorry for answering your PM so late, but I was in Europe and after coming back I moved onto a boat, being a boat sitter for 3 months (Spanish Water Curacao) and of course my laptop died ...
and now:
a) my message to you was too long,
b) then after shortening it into two halves I had a BB code, which wasn't allowed ...
please send me your email address in a PM again and I will answer you there ...
but you can already start looking here too ...
- Royal Marine Services
together with Curacao Marine the only two haul out places on Curacao ...
Bonaire has nothing and Aruba is working on it ...
greetz for now,
