now have composting toilets. When the Yankee Freedom (high speed cat) is there the composting toilets are locked and you use the restrooms on the Yankee Freedom. We found the park rangers very laid back and friendly.
The composters must be a recent addition.
When I was there they questioned where you would dispose of every piece of waste, even bread crusts. The toilets were the pumpout kind and when they were nearly full they urged you to wait for the ship, unless emergency
. Also they patrolled the harbor checking Y-valves. As everywhere there are those that are more uptight about their job than others.
Not that I didn't have a great time, and it is a wonderfull place to visit.
Just pointing out that digging a hole and C(*&ping is definitely going to get you on the bad list.
