Re: Exumas wifi

The best deal going is the 3/4 G cell signal through Batelco. You get a SIM card for $14.99, $5 to activate it, and then $30 a month for 3gig of data.

Of course you will need either an ipad, laptop, tablet, or adapter card to be able to use it.

The wifi is expensive enough that you can pick up an adapter and still come out ahead.

Re: Exumas wifi

WiFi is available at Exuma Park headquarters for $15 per day for park guests. Otherwise your best bet is Baelco.

There was WiFi at the bar in Staniel Cay last year. Expensive, but SWMBO's father was poorly, so needs must.

My favorite site. Looks Nice Friday and Sat, Sunday looks even better. Monday it starts to pick up a bit. Winds SE all weekend which is right on the nose heading to Nassau via NW Channel.

1. Where do you pick up the sim card?
2. Can you order the sim on line before heading out to Bahamas?
3. I assume that the card can be used through out Bahamas, right?

Any BTC store has those SIM cards. I even purchased two SIM cards, one for data one for voice, way out in Mayaguana. Most islands should have a BTC shop. Only GSM devices work. Make sure you have a device that is not locked to your carrier you bought it from. All iPads with 3G work fine. Most phones are subsidized by the carrier and locked to them.

Correct on testing the data card while you are there. Took the lady a while to get it to work, after i had gone off and returned.
