It gets even better in the D.R. - if you are cruising on a motorcycle/bike up into hills in the interior - which has some stunning scenery - it is not uncommon for a local mother to flag you down and ask if you want to marry her stunningly beautiful daughter. Most any "gringo" is considered a good catch for these young and "innocent" (yeah?) ladies. Problem is, if you do marry one, you get the entire family of parents, grandparents, brothers/sisters, aunts and uncles all moving in with you and your new bride. The cruising life has some hazards that are not all located underwater.
