Dinghy dock Great Kills Harbor, New York

Hi there,
We're thinking of spending a couple nights anchored in Great Kills Harbor before sailing south. We would like to be able to walk ashore, where do people leave their dinghys for a couple hours!

Thanks

The launch ramp of the Park at the eastern end of the bay is best for a walk but you may also want to talk to the yacht club on the north.

Atlantic Highlands is a better stop in our opinion. Dinghy dock in the marina, lots of room to anchor and a short walk to all the shopping options you need.

Thank you both for the replies. Yes, we have used Atlantic Highlands for years, I just want a change of scenery, plus we're expecting north winds the day we leave and it's a bit of a ways up and around the Hook.

Only anchored in Great Kills once, just past the mooring field. The shots below are of our neighbour ... and his mooring ball.

After that we've always gone to Atlantic Highlands and anchored on the breakwall side of the fairway before the mooring field. We've always felt more secure there.
