Re: Cruising plans for upcoming season?

following... the lockdown thing has flattened my tires for too long. really hope to learn that the new normal involves the definition of freedom cruisers embrace.

@Mike, i knew you couldn't get to the boat, but you almost bought an RV? holy cow, missed that.

hope you can get back to her soon. being away from one's boat must be a tough itch to scratch.

Headed to Bahamas next week once the weather letís up. There until New Years at least, then could stay until may or just head further south - PR, Virgin Islands, etc.

Re: Cruising plans for upcoming season?

We just relaunched in Sint Maarten last week. Anguilla is now open if you are vaccinated, show a test when you arrive and get tested again on your boat when you arrive. Arrival test is rapid test and in a couple of hours you are free to roam the island. St Barts is open, show a "Pass Sanitair" (sorry about spelling) and a test on arrival and it is pretty much business as usual. Most of the islands are now accepting the rapid tests. It is easy to get tested in Sint Maarten. $70. This is all about vaccinated travelers. Unvaccinated are just not welcome (don't blame them).
We're going sailing again this season!

The anchoring field in Charleston this past week has been about as full as I can remember seeing it in the past 25 years. People are out cruising this season.

Headed to Key West (from Galveston) around 12/12. A couple weeks in the Keys then jump off to Eleuthera where we’ll be serving in a Youth Camp for a few weeks. Hanging out in Bahamas, Turks & Caicos, and perhaps the VIs until we head to Chesapeake Bay for the summer.
