Cruising Guide Long island north to Maine

Can anyone recommend a Cruising Guide/Pilot for cruising from Long Island, CT, RI and possibly up to Maine?

I know there are many, but any that stand out for detail, accuracy and currency?

Thanks Forum!

Re: Cruising Guide Long island north to Maine

I just motored from Newport, RI to Annapolis (I'm still missing my mast due to hurricane Irma and am doing the refit in Annapolis) and used theMaptech Embassy Guide for my planning and was impressed with the details it offered. I'm not sure if it is the best, but it was certainly good enough.

Any other suggestions? Looks like I’ll be going north this summer.

There is a very good book written by the Duncan family and you can find it on Amazon or probably a lot of maritime book seller sites. It has been around forever, updated often

The MapTech version is what most of us have on board because it matches the ChartKit. Suggest you plan your route using the Dockwa site, too.

"Back in the day" we always relied on Duncan and Ware (Cruising Guide to the New England Coast) together with the Eldridge. This is still a great combo, but frankly the current edition of The Waterway Guide (Northern) is probably just as good, and also more likely to be up-to-date. I'd say carry both.
