Clearing into Bahamas from Turks and Caicos

We're hanging out in a wonderful little marina called South Side Marina in Provo planning our way north through the Bahamas.

I'm getting fairly inconsistent information about clearing into the southern islands. . . Mayaguana, Adkins or Crooked Islands. Anybody do this recently or should we just head up to Long Island?

We did it in Mayaguana a year ago. Could not be easier. All done in 20 minutes. Phone shop is next to the office to get your BTC card for data to get your weather.

Agree, in Mayaguana just walk up the road from the pier toward the Batelco tower and you will find the office to check in/out.

Also, the fishing, snorkeling and diving off the reef in Abraham Bay is fantastic as well as being a great place to wait for a good weather window to get further west.

Re: Clearing into Bahamas from Turks and Caicos

I cleared into Mayaguana coming from the Turks and Caicos this past June. It was as straight forward as anyplace else I've cleared in. Provisioning options are minimal and expensive.

It's very shallow coming to land, even with a dinghy, so follow the channel going into the cement and stone seawall/pier.
