China and The Bahamas sign "mutual visa waiver"

I read in "the Abaconian" that the Bahamas and China signed an agreement to allow visa free travel by citizens. I suppose this might mean more Chineese visitors, and a great opportunity for a Chineese speaker / boat captain to get a work visa if they were inclined.

Link to Bahamas government site with the story.

Quote:
...China’s Vice Foreign Minister Xie said the agreement is a new step in the bilateral relationship of The Bahamas and China.

“It will facilitate the people-to-people exchanges between our two countries. More and more Chinese visitors and investors will come to the beautiful Bahamas,” he said....
Might be some real opportunity if you speak Chineese.

It's for foreign banking. It's illegal for certain countries citizens to own or buy Chinese stocks directly so instead they use a form of derivatives where you basically hold a paper saying you own shares in a Bahamian private bank, which then holds the Chinese stocks.

This is big business. Any actual travel between the counties for tourism is simply a minor plus.
