Chesapeake: fuel & water (reading activecaptain)?

I just discovered Active Captain. Holy smokes! What an amazing website and info stream (using it on my iPad too via SeaIQ Free). A+ work.

The thing is, however, I'm not 100% sure how to discern the following.

If it says there if fuel and/or water available, does it necessarily mean I can stop there (without having a reserved slip) to get fuel and/or water?

I know of at least one marina in the area the does for sure have fuel and water, but not necessarily as a service to people who aren't paying for a slip.

Specifically, I'm concerned with St. Michaels and the Wye River areas for this weekend. I suspect we'll be fine on fuel, but I also suspect we'll need to top off our water at least once between now and Monday evening.

The fuel docks usually have water hoses lying around and they usually don't mind if you borrow the hose while you're fueling up. Shouldn't be a big deal. Worst case you can rent slips by the hour in St. Mikes, but I really doubt it will come to that.

What 4arch said. I'd be hard pressed to name a marina in the Chesapeake that has a fuel dock and requires you to take a slip for them to sell to you. Most of them have their fuel on an outside T-dock, for anyone to tie up for, and most of them have water as well.
