Considering a stop in the Cape Verdes on the way from Gibraltar to St. Lucia.


Anyone do any cruising there? Was it interesting? Best place to tie up?

I only have limited experience with the W barlavento islands, as we chartered out of Mindelo (Sao Vicente) a few years back. In the heart of the trades, 25-35 knots most days, most of the day. Incredibly dry weather — a brown dust from the island quickly covers the boat. Mindelo is also where I was told ARC+ stops, so it may be the best bet in the area. Make sure you dust off some Cesaria Evora CDs!
