Cape Canveral FL Draw bridge

I am trying to find out if this bridge opens on the weekends.

My best interpretation is:

On weekday it does not open from 6:30AM-8AM and 3:30-5PM? I guess rush hour for working folks.
I dont see VHF channel or phone number???

Also on weekends it does not open from 11AM to 2PM?
is that correct?

This is from waterway guide. I have no clue if my assumption is correct.

State Route 401 Drawbridges
  • Mile Marker: 5.5
  • Lat / Lon: N 28° 24.563' / W 080° 37.927'
  • Bridge Type: Bascule
  • Vertical Clearance (Closed): 25.00'
  • Schedule: The drawspans of the SR401 Drawbridges, mile 5.5 at Port Canaveral, must open on signal; except that, from 6:30 a.m. to 8 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. to 5:15 p.m. Monday through Friday except Federal holidays and from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays, the drawspans need not be opened for the passage of vessels. From 10 p.m. to 6 a.m., the drawspans must open on signal if at least three hours notice is given. The drawspans must open as soon as possible for the passage of public vessels of the United States and tugs with tows.

Re: Cape Canveral FL Draw bridge

Your interpretations appear to be correct. The bridges in Florida are on VHF 9.

Re: Cape Canveral FL Draw bridge

Try contacting one of the several marinas in the Cape Canaveral harbor. They should know the latest info. The Harbortown Marina (if it is still in operation) on the canal would definitely know about the bridge and the lock. The lock is usually the major issue as it is often down for maintenance.
