BVI seaweed

Ahoy folks, what's the situation with sargassum in the BVIs these days? We have a charter coming up in a couple of months, so trying to set expectations for my crew ...

thanks!

Re: BVI seaweed

It was already annoying in the beginning of this year, but it seems it only got worse? Anyone that knows how long it will take before it dissapears?

Re: BVI seaweed

White Bay on Jost actually got a front end loader and cleaned up the beach. Looks better now but there seems to still be a lot out there floating around .

Re: BVI seaweed

Actually I am more interested in how long it takes before it is really gone, not from the beaches but from the sea. Does it not sink at some point, and is the source already reduced?

I found it quite annoying to see all the time while sailing.
