Bocas del Toro check in

I was told that the port captian in Bocas has been replaced and the mordida is gone. You can now check in there at the right price. Anyone checked in there recently? What was your experiance?

Re: Bocas del Toro check in

Bob,

Checked in there last season (around May/June), the old port captain I assume, but don't know when this transition took place. As I recall, the port captain did not request anything from me but the presumably normal fees for which I received a receipt and cruising permit. The officials who visited the boat however, did request "fees" for each category of official. They each completed their paperwork but don't think I got a receipt for the "fees".
