PM TabbyCat, a CF Advisor. She is with IMIS, and will know virtually all of the policies and exclusions available. Don't try to shop brokers, it won't get you anything. Get one broker and shop the insurers themselves. You will find that some insurers will ammend their limits for specific reasons; Ours moved their Hurricane Exclusion Boundary a bit to include a haulout facility that could accomodate our beam.

You may need either a full survey our a rigging inspection to extend your cruising range depending on the age of your boat. The company may also consider your off-shore experience before underwritng the insurance; it depends on the underwriter not the company you pay for your coverage. Boats over 10 years of age are more suspect and may require more inspection.
