Just a suggestion, you may need to include a bit more information if you want responses, like starting from where, your prior sailing experience, physical condition, etc...

Greetings and welcome aboard the CF, lone traveler.

Can we preesume that you wish to join the crew aboard someone elses boat, and not cruise in company (convoy) with others, but aboard yours?

Now that you've edited your post my reply looks silly! I'm actually coming back to MIA on Saturday, boat's already in Bimini, but hopefully you'll get some positive responses. Good luck.

Question to the group- can you just let someone off on a island of their choosing? Do you have some obligation to the Bahamas to return your tourist? What happens when their visa expires?

I can't see how it could be your responsibility, any more than it is the responsibility of the captain of a commercial vessel or airliner to ensure that passengers return, or leave the country before their visa expires. I mean, what could you do if one of your shipmates just decided to stay on?

When you bring a crew member or passenger into any country they are your responsibility until you return to immigration and remove them from your crew list. At that time the officials will want to see some proof of how that person will leave the country. Such as signing onto another crew list or a airline ticket out of the country.
