Re: bareboat charter ...Where ???

You're better off chartering out of Nassau. Most Florida bareboats don't go to the Bahamas due to conditions for gulf stream crossing. Sometimes you have to wait a week or two this time of the year before getting proper conditions, especially if it's your first trip. If you want a short trip to the Bahamas I suggest a power boat or one of those 3 day cruise ships.

Re: bareboat charter ...Where ???

As Vasco indicated, bareboat companies typically don't cross the gulf stream from Florida to the Bahamas. There are however several charter companies in the Abacos (Bahamas) including Sunsail and The Moorings, which are an easy 1-hour flight from Miami. Both Sunsail and the Moorings (both owned by Tui Marine, operate out of Marsh Harbour).

Yacht Charter and Sailboat Rental Company - Sailing Vacations | The Moorings

Both the above websites provide pricing information

Of course, you can also charter a boat in Miami and cruise the Florida Keys.

Re: Bareboat Charter . . . Where ?

Enjoy - The Bahamas are a wonderful place to charter.

Beware that cold fronts still have a punch in winter when they hit the Abacos and the water in winter is sometimes cool for swimming.
